TLC Slide Scanning:
Each slide is manually inspected by our lab technician assigned to the order. They use compressed air to remove any dust on the slides. Slides are then placed in the scanner and scanned onto the computer. From there the lab technician with years of experience determines whether the slide needs any lightening, darkening, or any other color adjustments ensuring that the photo you are receiving this the best quality possible. TLC Slide scanning also has digital ice technology embedded within the machine. Digital ice technology simply means the computer can recognize and remove dust or scratch marks without affecting the image composition. TLC is a much higher resolution scan.
Bulk Slide Scanning:
Bulk slide scanning is a more cost-effective way of archiving hundreds or thousands of slides. These scans are purely used for archiving with no intention of reprinting or posting the photos. These images are not color corrected and this method does not have digital ice technology. This means the images can come out very dark and may have lots of dust or scratches on the scans because they arent corrected in the scanning process. Resolution wise bulk scanning is also lower. For this method, we do offer a bulk image enhancement for an additional $24.95, however, images may still have dust because it was not recognized by the scanner in that process.
